Top 3 Easy Home Remedies for Toothaches

Are you thinking now is the worst time to get a toothache because most dental clinics are closed due to the pandemic?

To a certain extent, probably not.

Don’t worry, because here are three easy home remedies that can alleviate toothache, even if you can’t go to the dentist just yet.

1. Salt Rinse

Mix ½ tbsp of salt with warm water and swish it around in your mouth or gargle it. Saltwater is a natural disinfectant and an easy and effective remedy to cure a toothache. It prevents swelling and cleans the area around the toothache.

2. Ice Pack

A cold compress is effective for any kind of pain you are experiencing. Apply it on your cheek above the toothache for 15 mins to numb the nerves. Ice packs also reduce inflammation and swelling.

3. Peppermint Tea

If you’d like something warm, peppermint tea also has numbing properties. Mix 1 tsp to 1 cup of boiling water, brew for 20 mins, and then use the mixture as a mouthwash.

You don’t have to look far for immediate toothache relief. Most of the time, the solution is just in your kitchen cupboard.

However, if the pain is severe and the following conditions persist:

Get in touch with your dentist, and an emergency appointment will be arranged using the proper protocols for everyone’s safety.
